Digital media .

Q1.

-mobile phones
-digital television
-digital video
-internet
-playstation
-nintendo wii
-CD's
-e-book

Q2.

Digital data is based on the binary numeral sytem. the two numbers that are used to code all digital data is '0' and '1'.

Q3.

A 'bit' is a single numeric value either '1' or '0' that incodes a single unit of digital information. a 'byte' is a sequence of bits; usually 8 bits per byte.

Q4.

The sampling rate defines the number of samples per second, taken from a continuous signal to make a discrete signal.

Q5.

Colour depth or Bit depth is a computer graphics term describing the number of bits used to represent the colour of a pixel in a bitmapped image or video frame buffer. Higher colour depth gives a broader range of distinct colours. Here is some examples:

1 bit (2 colours) ^

2 bit (4 colours)^

4 bit (16 colours)^

8 bit (256 colours)^
true colour (24+bits)^

Q6.

Colour depth affects both still and video digital media because both of these use pictures. Sampling rate only affects video because sound is only used in video not in still media.
